Dating And Flowers Go Hand In Hand To Build Relationships

Am I being stupid for feeling this way?
This is an odd situation that probably makes me sound like a complete jerk off, but give me some honest opinions, all opinions, spiteful or not will be considered. Here is the set up... For the last two years I have been dating a girl who doesn't come from the best of circumstances. Her family is poor, and for the most part always has been, at least that I know of. She barely ever has money to do what she wanted, she couldn't even typically afford to load her "pay-as-you go" phone with $25 a month! I have always gotten by ok, not rich by any means, but I survive. Kind of. I generally spend a majority of my money on things to make her happy, i.e. dates, flowers, clothes and other such girly things. She is typically always really appreciative of what I do for her and thanks me regularly. At Christmas, I usually go all out for her and her little brother because the never had real christmases. For example, last year I spent around $300 on her little brother and around $500 on her. She was really happy because it was the first year that she got everything she wanted. She said, now this is the important part, the same thing she always says when I get her nice things, "I wish that I could do this kind of stuff for you! I really do! It makes me feel bad that I can't!" To be entirely honest, it has never bothered me that she can't get me things or pay for dinner or anything, until now. Just recently she received a certain benefit that allowed her a lump sum of $5000 and $700 additional dollars a month for the next year or so. Now keep this in mind, she has no bills, aside from her pay-as-you go phone. She said that she wanted to get me something. I refused at first and told her to save it for her college. We agreed on that. Now, here comes the twist in my panties. She decided that she should go out and buy herself some nice clothes, which I fully agreed on becuase she has lived off of goodwill and hand-me-downs her whole life. She goes into a nice fashion store and drops over $700 in clothes. Then she decides she needs a new gophone and drops almost $300 to get that. After all this, I realized she was wanting to spend some of her money and she finally talked me into letting her get me something for me (sounds like it would be a tough thing to do right?LOL). Anyway I told her that she could buy me a small item that I had been wanting but could not afford right now. It was $50. She said, no that's too much. I said ok, and just haven't brought it up again since. I have felt differently about her since then though. What are your thoughts on this and what would you do in the same situation? Too much?! Really? Just to add, since then she has purchased a $700 laptop, a $100 bluetooth, a $200 hair straightener, taken her family out to expensive restaraunts in excess of $100 each, and spent around $200 to redo her room. All the while saying that $50 was too much to spend on me. What happened to wishing she could do something to repay me for all the things I have done for her?!? It has been less than a month since she got the money and has less than $1000 left... Opinions? Sorry it's so long by the way, just wanted you to have at least a half decent handle on the situation. I guess that I am also wondering if you think it will impact a long term relationship. If she doesn't have money and is going to burn through it like that, should I be worried as far as a long term relationship goes? By the way, the $50 thing was a pair of 35lbs weights, and as a matter of fact it was two weeks ago that this happened, and they still aren't there. I wish you were right "Georgina". TO "Trying N" I bought her things because I love her. That is a legit question to ask though. I honestly never expected her to have any money and for two years I have purchased these things to make her happy. This large sum just came to light about two months ago. I really would have never guesses she would get it. Honest.

What do YOU consider the best thing about your LIFE?
NOT INCLUDING LOVED ONES! More like "I have an easy job that pays well" etc FOR ME - I'm not going to lie. I LOVE girls. My first kiss was in KINDERGARTEN to prettiest blonde hair blue eye girl in the whole class LOL :) I'm a young wealthy guy so lots of pretty girls want to be my girlfriend. I just like girls, always have. I could do anything with my money, but I mainly spend it on nice cars & spoiling my girlfriend (dinner dates, flowers, birthday gifts)
